Our UKATA registered category ‘C’ Licensable Asbestos Removal Asbestos Operative Refresher course is for those candidates who work for one of the many HSE asbestos licensed removal contractors, who now require their mandatory annual refresher asbestos awareness training course, based upon there current Training Needs Analysis (TNA).

Aims Whose this course for?

To ensure that all operatives are refreshed and kept up to date with the ever increasing legislative changes, thus ensuring that their knowledge and hands on experience is assessed and corrected as necessary inline with their TNA and CAR 2012.

Course objectives

Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, requires employers to ensure that any employee is given the correct information, instruction and training.

‘HSG 247; Asbestos: The licensed contractors’ guide’ which forms the syllabus for this licensed asbestos removal contractor training, requires employers to provide to the training provider a training needs analysis for each candidate. This ensures that the candidates refresher training is not a repeat of the initial training and continues to build upon those skills the candidates has previously gained.

Assessment

Upon completion of the course the candidate will be required to demonstrate their competency by undertaking a two part assessment consisting of a multi choice exam requiring an 80% or higher pass mark, designed to test the candidates knowledge and a practical assessment including full decontamination procedures using a fully set up decontamination unit, correct transiting procedures and full RPE inspection and fit checks.
